Default Heroes will not use enchantments!

Ok this MIGHT be a stupid question.

I just got nightfall today and decided to take some heroes out to witmans folly for some grawl farming. Since they are all low level I loaded them up with enchantments spells to buff myself and to my suprise when I direct them to use them on me they go through the casting animations and their energy even drops, but the spell never actually casts.

here is what Im doing

1. I target myself
2. Bring up hero skill bar
3. Click the enchantment skill I want them to use

Im a little at a loss here. Can someone explain what I am doing wrong?

Grawls in Witman's use Chillbains, could it be the reason you're not enchanted?

Try doing it anywhere. The results are the same. The hero monk cancels the enchant as soon as it is cast for some reason. They don't maintain enchants at all. It would be fantastic if we could change that, though. . .

yah, that has happned to me.... i have koss(or any hero) cast mending on someone, he uses the skill(loses the energy) but its removed befor I can even see it. Koss will cast mending on himself...

Heroes don't do long term enchants on human characters. It's intentional.

My hero monk uses Healing Breeze all the time... even when I'd rather him casting Word of Healing. Long term enchants don't work unless you cast them manually.

actually, they do use holy veil, they'll just cancel it immediately to use as a very effective hex-removal. saves me 2 clicks =] they just won't keep an enchant up for an indefinate amount of time unless directed to via shift + clicking the skill to lock it and manually casting it.

Yeah, they refuse to cast the maintained enchantments until you actually get into a fight... if you try to cast them manually, the hero just removes them instantly.

If you do want to use a henchie as a bonder, you MUST shift-click the bonds. This stops them from dropping them a quarter of a second after they cast them. Since they are now disabled, you must also manually force the hero to cast them on your party. This DOES work, it's just slightly tedious.

Dunkoro uses Divine Boon for me...but I can't get Koss to use Live Vicariously...

ahh the problem i had for a while.
and heres how it works.

you must disable the skill (shift+click)
then target yourself, and activate the enchant.
voila

Question on shift clickign since i rebinded my whole game config, is shift clicking the same combo as callign targets?

So that for me would me holding control and clicking.

I was doing Consulate Docks with some guy and his "Uber Healing Dunkoro"...Dunkoro used Bane Signet whenever possible, but more to the point, cast Retribution on as many people as he could. I LOL'D

My elementalist heroes do use enchantments usually...an exception is dual attunements. I think they thought "what's the point in elemental attunement if I already have earth attunement?". Also they use Aura of Restoration without much prompting.

He uses the spell then takes it off him when it should be used all the time to keep his health up to save me from healing him is AN going to do anything about this issue? And I spent 20 minutes just making him cast it on himself and everytime he would take it back off till finaly i just removed off his bar
